Three tips for caring for your vinyl :
The authenticity of vinyl, whether in sound or in the vintage aspect of this musical medium, is maintained.
Like a memory through the ink of a photograph, well protected from all threats, your vinyl must remain intact after each listening session.
Here are some tips on how to "enchant" them to be yours.
Probably the best known of all, the alcohol method (preferably 70°) is suitable for small annoyances such as small stains and thin layers of dust.
For those who have nurtured their feelings about vinyl without ever betraying them; but also for young people who are discovering the joys of this pure melody, this method of washing vinyl will serve you well at all times as it is low-cost friendly; and low-cost is something everyone likes.
As you can see, the 70° alcohol will revive the chorus of your favourite songs!
Everything you need:
Please note: it is important to bring these with you as they can damage your black cakes.
Putting it into practice:
1- Use a dry cloth to remove dust from your disk.
2- Take cotton wool and douse it with alcohol.
3- Grab your vinyl and run your white natural fibre cloud along the groove from the inside to the outside.
4- After 5 minutes in the wind, repeat the operation for the second side.
5- Finally, you are free to sober up your black cake by rinsing it with demineralised water on a new cloud or soft cloth.
Caution: During this process, be careful not to rub the disc label.
Everything you need:
Caution: be careful with the water you use, tap water is to be avoided for all other methods included.
Putting it into practice:
1- In the first container, mix demineralised water and washing-up liquid. Then in the second, simply pour demineralised water alone.
2- Remove dirt from your disc with a dry cloth.
3- Dip the soft cloth in the soap mixture, wring it out lightly and then start working your way along the groove from the inside to the outside.
4- Once done and you are satisfied, take a new sponge without a scraper and rinse your vinyl with the water from the second tub.
Caution: after each use, be sure to wash your sponge so that you do not get any washing-up liquid in the pure water.
5- Let your disc dry for 5 to 10 minutes.
6- Repeat the above steps for the second side.
For the bigger collector there is a vinyl washing machine (maPlatine.com) to make it easier for you.
The same products but the hands are less cluttered. Let's put it down and shoot! (Sorry, no music in return.)
Small cleaning kits are an investment that anyone can afford, but depending on how attached you are to these "little rounds", you may want to come back for our tips.
